๐Ÿ“ Ingredients

For Idli Batter

  • 2 cups idli rice

  • 1 cup urad dal (split, skinless)

  • ยฝ tsp fenugreek seeds

  • Salt to taste

For Sambar

  • ยฝ cup toor dal (pigeon pea lentils)

  • 2ยฝ cups water

Step 1: Prepare the Idli Batter

Wash and soak idli rice and urad dal separately for 4โ€“5 hours.
Grind urad dal to a fluffy batter and rice to a smooth batter.

Step 2: Steam the Idlis

Grease idli moulds and pour batter into them.
Steam for 10โ€“12 minutes until soft and spongy.
