๐ Ingredients (Serves 4โ5)
๐พ For Medu Vada:
Urad dal (split, skinned) โ 1 cup
Water โ for soaking ๐ง
Green chilli โ 1, finely chopped ๐ถ๏ธ
Ginger โ 1 tsp, finely chopped ๐ง
Onion โ 2 tbsp, finely chopped (optional) ๐ง
Curry leaves โ chopped ๐
PIKS Black Pepper Powder โ ยฝ tsp โซ
PIKS Jeera (Cumin Seeds) โ 1 tsp ๐ฟ
Salt โ to taste ๐ง
Oil โ for deep frying ๐ข๏ธ
๐ณ Method โ Medu Vada
1๏ธโฃ Soak & Grind
Wash urad dal and soak for 5โ6 hours or overnight ๐ง
Drain and grind into a thick, smooth batter using minimal water โจ
Beat the batter well till light and fluffy (very important!) ๐
2๏ธโฃ Add Seasoning
Add green chilli, ginger, curry leaves, onion, PIKS Black Pepper, PIKS Jeera, and salt ๐ง๐ฟ
Mix gently.

Heat oil on medium flame ๐ข๏ธ
Wet your fingers, shape batter into vadas with a hole in the center ๐ฉ

Toor dal โ ยพ cup
Mixed vegetables (drumstick, carrot, pumpkin, brinjal) ๐ฅ๐
Tamarind pulp โ 1ยฝ tbsp
PIKS Sambar Masala โ 2 tsp โจ

Mustard seeds โ 1 tsp

Fresh coconut โ 1 cup ๐ฅฅ
Roasted chana dal โ 2 tbsp
Green chilli โ 1 ๐ถ๏ธ
Ginger โ small piece ๐ง
PIKS Black Pepper Powder โ a pinch โซ
Salt โ to taste ๐ง
Water โ as needed
๐ณ Method โ Chutney
Blend all ingredients into a smooth chutney ๐ฅฅโจ
Prepare tempering with mustard seeds, curry leaves, and dry red chilli ๐ฟ
Pour over chutney and mix.
