๐ฟ Authentic Gujarati Methi Thepla โ Full Recipe
๐พ Ingredients
2 cups whole wheat flour
1 cup fresh methi (fenugreek) leaves, finely chopped ๐ฟ
2 tbsp curd (optional, for softness)
1 tbsp oil
ยฝ tsp PIKS Turmeric Powder
1 tsp PIKS Red Chilli Powder ๐ถ๏ธ
1 tsp PIKS Coriander Powder
ยฝ tsp PIKS Cumin Powder
ยฝ tsp PIKS Garam Masala
1 tsp sesame seeds (optional)
Salt to taste
Water as needed
Oil or ghee for roasting

1๏ธโฃ Prepare the dough
In a large bowl, combine whole wheat flour, chopped methi leaves, PIKS Turmeric, Red Chilli Powder, Coriander Powder, Cumin Powder, Garam Masala, sesame seeds, salt, oil, and curd ๐ถ๏ธโจ.
2๏ธโฃ Knead the dough
Add water gradually and knead into a soft, smooth dough. Cover and let it rest for 15โ20 minutes ๐ฅฃ.
3๏ธโฃ Shape the theplas
Divide the dough into small balls. Roll each ball into a thin round flatbread using dry flour ๐ซ.
4๏ธโฃ Cook on tawa
Heat a tawa or flat pan. Place the thepla on it and cook on medium heat. Flip when bubbles appear, apply a little oil or ghee, and cook both sides until golden brown spots form ๐ฅโจ.

Remove and stack in a cloth-lined container to keep them soft.
